第1章　CURRENTOWAとは

CURRENTOWA（カレントワ）は、音楽を単なる娯楽や表現行為にとどめず、社会的・倫理的実践として位置づける国際音楽プロジェクトである。
日本、英国、ドイツ、中国、アメリカ、オーストラリアという異なる歴史的・文化的背景を持つ音楽家たちが、一つの楽曲を共同制作する行為そのものが、反戦と平和を体現するメッセージとなっている。
国境を越えた協働は理念ではなく「実践」として提示され、音楽という非言語的手段によって、分断を前提としない価値観が現実に成立しうることを示している。

CURRENTOWA is an international music project that positions music not merely as entertainment or artistic expression, but as a form of social and ethical practice.
Musicians from Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, the United States, and Australia collaboratively create single musical works, and the act of co-creation itself embodies a concrete message of anti-war commitment and peace.
Cross-border collaboration is presented not as an ideal, but as lived practice, demonstrating through music—a non-verbal medium—that values not premised on division can be realized in tangible form.

第2章　結成の背景とプロジェクトの成り立ち

CURRENTOWAは、作詞家・国際音楽プロデューサーである権谷達哉を中心に結成された。
兵庫県生まれ、石川県七尾市在住の権谷は、祖父が太平洋戦争で亡くなったという個人的体験を原点に、反戦と平和を主題とする音楽活動を続けてきた。
35歳頃、病気の回復過程で作詞と出会い、音楽を「記憶と責任を社会へ手渡す手段」として本格的に位置づけるようになった。

CURRENTOWA was founded under the leadership of lyricist and international music producer Tatsuya Gontani.
Born in Hyogo Prefecture and currently based in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Gontani has pursued music centered on anti-war and peace-building, rooted in the loss of his grandfather during the Pacific War.
After encountering lyric writing during his recovery from illness in his mid-thirties, he came to define music as a medium for transmitting memory and responsibility to society.

第3章　CURRENTOWAの理念

CURRENTOWAの思想の核にあるのは、「対立ではなく共創」である。
国家、民族、宗教、政治体制の違いが生み出す緊張を、音楽という共有可能な表現領域の中で再構築することを目指している。
声明やスローガンではなく、感情と身体感覚に直接作用する音楽を通じて、共感と対話の回路を開くことが基本姿勢である。

At the core of CURRENTOWA lies the principle of co-creation over confrontation.
The project seeks to reconfigure tensions arising from differences in nationhood, ethnicity, religion, and political systems within a shared expressive space created through music.
Rather than relying on slogans, it engages emotions and embodied perception directly, fostering empathy, dialogue, and mutual recognition.

第4章　戦後80年という時代背景

2025年は、第二次世界大戦の終結から80年という大きな節目にあたる。
戦争体験者が急速に減少するなか、記憶の継承は個人の証言から社会全体の文化的実践へと移行しつつある。
CURRENTOWAは、音楽を通じた記憶の共有によって、歴史の抽象化や風化に抗う試みを続けている。

The year 2025 marks eighty years since the end of World War II.
As the number of direct witnesses rapidly declines, responsibility for historical memory is shifting from individual testimony to collective cultural practice.
CURRENTOWA employs music as a medium of remembrance, enabling memory to be shared across generations and cultures while resisting abstraction and amnesia.

第6章　代表作と音楽性

日本語
代表作「朝露のように」は、サウンドデザイナーによるDTM（打ち込み）デモを起点に、人間の演奏を段階的に重ねて完成した。
ロックを基軸に、ダンスミュージックやクラシック、民族音楽的要素を横断し、重いテーマを現代的かつポップな形で提示している。

Like Morning Dew, the project’s signature work, originated from DTM demo by sound designer and was completed through successive layers of human performance.
Rooted in rock while traversing dance, classical, and ethnic elements, the music presents heavy themes in contemporary and accessible forms.

第8章　今後の展望

CURRENTOWAは、多言語展開、国際平和イベント、教育機関との連携を通じ、持続的な国際音楽共同体の形成を目指す。
音楽は答えを与えるのではなく、問いを残す。その問いこそが、分断の時代における静かで強い抵抗となる。
